I can highly recommend the following video player as an alternative to WMP, RealPlayer and so on.
Good
1. Plays almost all video file formats
2. You can even drag and drop video files onto the player icon on your desktop and it will launch and the video will play
3. The VLC player is free
Not so good
Can't think of any negatives!
