Improve your spelling

Oxford Dictionaries Spelling Bee

Oxford dictionaries have a newish web based tool that allows users to practise their spelling. There is no need to log in or register which is good. However, this also means that it is not possible to record and view your scores over time.  However, you do get clear feedback on your performance each time you play.

How does it work?

1. Choose one of the three levels;
Tricky
Difficult
Fiendish

2. Choose if you want American or British English

3. Choose start

4. Listen to the words you hear and write what you hear in the box provided.

Users get immediate feedback as to whether their answer is right or wrong and at the end the total score is presented. There is the opportunity to review your answers, share your score on Facebook and Tweet your score, assuming users are confident enough to tell the world about how good their spelling is.  I will not be spreading the news about how I did on the fiendish set of words!
