Talking Phonemic Alphabet

The British Council / BBC Teaching English site has a version of the phonemic chart that allows users to listen to the sounds and three example words containing that sound.

Listen to a phoneme
Click on the sound you wish to hear

You will hear the sound pronounced in a British English RP accent

Listen to three words containing your chosen phoneme
Place the mouse over the drop down box in the top right hand corner of the phoneme box.  The phoneme will disappear and be replaced by three example words containing the sound.  Click on the words individually and you will hear them word spoken, again in an RP accent
