English Vocabulary Exercises is a web site devoted to vocabulary development.
It is split into two parts. The first part is a general English section. Click on General Vocabulary Exercises. The exercises are sorted according to category. For example, there are exercises on food and eating, and crime and the law.
The second half of the site is devoted to the Academic Word List (AWL). Click Academic Vocabulary Exercises and you will be taken to a new page where the AWL is divided into the 10 sublists. Again, there are lots of exercises. It is also possible to hear the head words spoken in a west coast Canadian accent!
The exercises on the web site will be familiar to anyone who has authored materials using Hot Potatoes.
